I'll be headed to Disneyworld at the end of this week. Excited probably doesn't cover it. Thank you wonderful, awesome, amazing boyfriend. :) Heartshowers for you.

In the midst of trying to clean out my memory card for the trip, I came across these from my first trip to Disneyworld. Thought I'd share. Disneyland has this same attraction in California Adventure as well, but its basically a huge class where they teach you how to draw a Disney character in like 20 minutes. Ridiculously fun (well for me) and of course like a nerd I had to sit in the front every single time. Yes, time.. I took the class like 4 times in a row. Ran out of class and right back in! since it was a different character every time. ;) Enjoy!

One of my favorite people asked me yesterday.. How many blogs have I started and abandoned in my life? Which I took to be an indirect hint to update this one. :P

Unfortunately, the only creativity in my life lately is making fliers/signs for my work (which I obviously can't post on here, and note that I work in HR--why am I making fliers? I don't know), and drawing on climbing shoes. Oh wait. That last bit just might be art huh?

So here it goes.

It's really all thanks to Leo. It was his idea to draw on shoes to begin with. This was back in January, and now it's something of an addiction. Luckily, Leo seems to have a bit of a climbing shoe addiction as well so I've been fortunate enough to have drawn 3 for him. (I'll post those up later). Unfortunately, I now have the irrational want to buy new climbing shoes for the pure purpose of drawing on them!

Good thing my boyfriend saved me from that.. by buying a pair of his own! Haha. He works for Apple and I love all things Google, so the shoe design is half a little joke, and mostly inspired by this picture I found:

I absolutely love doing these designs! I have another one lined up from another gym member, if he will ever remember to give me his shoes, that is. But in the mean while, I now have an itch to drawn on dozens of shoes.

Maybe I'll wander off to the Converse Outlets and see if they have any white ones on clearance... La La La..

I'm sorry! It's been forever and a day since I've updated, and I update with a craptasic picture like this one. :(

Scanner isn't available to me any more.. so I have to make due with what I have - crappy camera phone. Life got crazy. CRAZY I tell you. I just about lost my head these last 6 months. But I'm back now! New job keeps me kind of busy, but I'll try to be better about updating.

In any case, I'll shut up now and talk about what this blog is actually suppose to be about! So this is just a sketch - potential tattoo design inspired from the anime, Battle Angel Akira. Still needs a lot of refining to make it "harder" should say. And harder it is indeed since my usual style of drawing is so foo-foo kute. I'm hoping at some point to make this good enough where I'll feel comfortable with it on my body!

Spent a bit more time on the average notebook drawing today. :) Actually I haven't drawn this style in a while. Kind of similar to this entry from a while back. The style was actually inspired by a webcomic I use to read (and just recently picked up again) called MegaTokyo. Of course, I adopted my own features into it. I'm a big fan of Fred Gallagher's drawing style, and the comic itself is pretty fun to read!

A very rough sketch of a Sleeping Beauty painting I want to do at some point (when I can find the time /le sigh). Oddly inspired by a song by Keri Hilson featuring NeYo (<3) and Kanye West called "Knock You Down".

Just a blip of the part that inspired me:

We were never meant to be baby, we just happened.. 'Cause we had it, we was magic...

I was kind of debating between which Disney princess I wanted to use for this. I had to go classic of course, so the debate was really between Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. In the end I chose Sleeping Beauty simple for the end scene where she's dancing in the clouds with her prince. :) If that's not magic, I don't know what is.

I've always had a long time love for Ariel. Not entirely sure why, but I also draw her before I'll draw any one else. I think its because when I was younger I loved, well still do, the ocean and thought how grand it would be to be able swim in it just like a fish! Also, perhaps, because she was my first Disney princess.. and you know what they say about first loves *wink*.

Omg! It's finally up! :D Its my first Threadless design! AH! I'm so excited! It's going to be up for voting for the next 7 days! If I can get a high enough score I might get printed! and tons and tons of people will be wearing my design!

The idea just randomly came to me one day in the car. But with my obsession of ninjas.. I suppose that's not much a surprise! :) Sides .. I know more than a few boys that have pretend-played ninjas before.. Grappling hooks and all ;)

From another life time, really. I'd originally done this for one of my old websites, which obviously does not exist any more. :( But no worries, there will be a new one coming soon! I just got figure out a time between all my projects to get it up.

It's been a while since I've even shaded like this. I think I've just about forgotten how to! Though in general, its not too bad. Its a bit rougher than what I've been putting out now-a-days. And I can see the flaws in this work easily. Then again, this was pre-Wacom! (Excuses, excuses right?)

Also, its worth a note that the pillow is an actual pillow that I made for all of my friends! Though, that was again, in another life-time, before I'd developed my current skills, and those pillows are terrible condition now. I'm kind of surprised any one still owns them. :)

The second installment of "Lion and Lamb" has arrived! This is also my second attempt at using my Wacom to create/color an image in Photoshop. Despite the image being more detailed and larger than my first attempt, the entire process only took me four days, as opposed to the three weeks from before. I’m definitely starting to get the hang of everything. :) Though, I do need to work on my inking. I could have easily cut out a day or two had I not had to clean up the scan as much as I did.

Boyfriend and another friend have suggested watermarking and reducing the quality of my images to protect myself from internet hijacking. It has been on my mind for some time to do so, but I’d resisted since I feel that it takes away from the art work itself. But it is better to do this now, then to regret doing so later. :) However! I hope to have prints available for purchase at a later date.

I spent the majority of this weekend cleaning up 2 external HDs and consolidated everything on them, and my laptop, into one clean, "organized" back up. In doing so I’ve managed to uncovered some old scanned in sketches and art works that I’d long forgotten. I thought I’d share. Especially since the sun seems to have taken a vacation in Nor Cal for the moment, it’ll be a while before I have a chance to photograph my bigger works to show.

I don’t remember much about this particular sketch, I may have just been in a “mood” when I drew it. Judging from the scrawled signature, this was done back in 2002, which means I was still in college. :) The sketch was saved as “Sad Girl”, though looking at it now, it almost seems like she’s more pensive than sad, no? (Also note the difference in my signature! I almost forgotten I use to sign my name like that! LoL).

I'd always wanted a graphic tablet, but they're horribly expensive. Lucky for me, I have the best, most generous, and supportive bf in the world. He picked one of these up for me a few months ago, and this is my first go at it. It took.. an insane amount of time to complete. I honestly thought my eyes were going to start bleeding at some point. Just inexperience is what really slowed me down. But overall, I'm extremely happy with the out come of it. Its definitely a change from what I've done before, but a good one! The Wacom Intuos is pressure sensitive as well, so it allows you to create thicker and thinner lines easily!

I'll be using this with my Lion and Lamb series soon, so stay tuned! :)

Whew! Welcome to my first installment of "Lion and Lamb". They will, what I hope, be my first official series ever! I have quite a few ideas sketched out already, and definitely want to play around with different mediums for it. So stay tuned! :)

This was done with watercolor paints--the fancy kind in the tube and the kiddie 16 palette kind (lol). Honestly, I'm quite impressed with myself, as previous attempts at watercolor paintings have come out very poorly. I really took my time with this one. I estimate it took about 2-3 days for completion. Overall, I am very happy with it. Hope you like it!

Because what else is there to do when you have meetings right? I have this habit of doodling in notebooks. Have so ever since I was a kid. It tends to coincide with my habit of sketching out outfit ideas from my wardrobe.. and if you know me, right now I have a complete and utter obsession with scarves. Seriously, I think I've acquired nine scarves now? And for some odd reason, I still want more. Crazy, I know. Especially when I sit there and think about what outfits would work with all these scarves :P

In any case, enjoy! The first sketch is a graphic tee and a bubble mini with a scarf wrapped in triangle style. The second sketch is a dress that is currently in the mail right now :P but what I hope will be cute with this floral scarf I own. The two together probably took about 20 minutes or so, which is about the length of my meeting (minus the 10 minutes it took to take notes--I do work you know!)

~~My first attempt at painting with oils.~~ No wait, I lie. Its my first REAL attempt at painting with oils.. lol. The paint by numbers from my youth, and the hideous play around at free-hand that is now hidden in a closet some where don't count! Unfortunately, I didn't get to keep this one. Its currently hanging in my friend's bedroom somewhere. Probably took me approximately two weeks to really complete. Mainly because I was painfully going about trying to get everything blended correctly and kept having to go over in layers again and again. Honestly, if you took a knife to this, you'd scratch quite a bit off before getting to the canvas! Haha!

I did these about a year ago, but wanted to share. I'd always wanted a tattoo, but I couldn't come up with a design that I could be a 100% happy with. Well, when I finally did, I ended up with two instead of one!

The first tattoo is in the shape of a Leo sign, and the words written in Thai are Leo characteristics: Leo, Love, Strong, Loyal, Creative, Stubborn, Courageous, Happy, Sun. The second one is my nick name in Thai: Gwaang. I wanted designs that were apart of my identity, and of my own personality - hence designing them myself. :)

I want at least two more I think. I'm working on a few ideas, but haven't found something I that I'm in love with yet. This next one is going to be a bit more fun. Since I've gotten the "identity" ones out of the way I feel like I have a bit more freedom with the next few designs to just be creative!

So.. a different type of art.. but still art none the less! Converse has this awesome option on their website where you can design your own shoes!! There are several combination to choose from.. haha.. and trust me, I did several. Its honestly not too badly priced too. The double tongue combination is a bit more expensive than the regular chucks ($65 vs $62), but its so worth it to have your own pair of custom shoes! It's going to take 3-5 weeks before they are going to arrive. >.< I'm super duper excited!

Phew! My first T-Shirt reconstruction! and wow it was a hard one. And-SHOCK-It's wearable! I probably should have started off with something wayyy simpler, but this has been floating around in my head ever since I saw it in Generation T book (Page 29) I borrowed from the library. The book shows a slightly different version, but it was the cross knot in the back that I wanted to do.

And the best part? You can wear a bra with this! I some how-amazingly-managed to cut/sew it at the right length so that it perfectly covers my bra! ;) So for the days I'm feeling a bit daring/sexy I can show off the good stuff.. Haha.

Overall this has taken me about 3-4 days. It went by a lot faster than I thought it would. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the shirt wasn't put together very evenly.... Sooo I ended up having to cut the shirt a bit shorter than I originally planned to fix the side seams/back opening. Oops.. Live and learn :)

Uh.. yeah. LoL. This one took a while.. approximately 3-4 days, and very very sore fingers. It's been forever since I've made a custom pillow though, which is why this probably took as long as it did! It came out pretty good though. I'm very happy with it. There's even a zipper on the side to close it up! Obviously not for me, but a thank you gift for a friend.

If you want to do one for yourself they're really not that hard to do. I'd recommend a sewing machine for some of the bigger stuff, but its not a necessity. I hand sewed everything (even the zipper) since I don't have one. It's also not a terribly costly project. Your biggest expense would probably be the pillow insert, depending on the quality you want. Target has some standard ones that range between $3-$10 dollars. The rest is just felt and cloth, and time.. time time lots of time! :)

I think this took me approximately 8 hours to complete. It's done on a 18x20 paper. I have it framed up on my wall. :) The original is from Harper's Baazer's magazine cover. I'm a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn, and when I saw this image of Natalie Portman it was just so classic and beautiful I wanted to do a charcoal of it!
